Different levels of dedication & commitment

A $500 scholarship honoring Tonawanda native and world-record powerlifter Paul Childress — awarded to Tonawanda and Grand Island senior student-athletes who show dedication, perseverance, and heart, regardless of ability.

Who this is for

Talent is common. Commitment isn't.

Paul saw talent in people they didn't know they had. He believed that when natural ability met real dedication, anything was possible — and he spent his life proving it, first in himself, then in everyone he coached.

This scholarship carries that forward. It rewards the student-athlete whose effort tells the story, not just the stat sheet.
